# Wheel of Life — Free Online Assessment > A free, interactive Wheel of Life assessment from Noomii. The Wheel of Life is a simple coaching tool that shows how satisfied you are across the major areas of your life on a single page. You rate each area from 1 to 10, the scores connect into a shape, and that shape is an honest read on where your life is balanced and where it needs work. It takes under a minute, requires no signup, and is 100% free. Brought to you by Noomii — the web's largest directory of life and business coaches. An Accountability Now company. Cost: Free, no signup, take it as often as you like. ## About the Tool The Wheel of Life gives a bird's-eye view of every area of your life at once, so you can see which areas are flourishing and which need the most work. Life and career coaches use it to help clients spot imbalance they can sense but rarely see clearly. The bicycle-wheel analogy is core: when the spokes are even the ride is smooth; one short spoke and the wheel wobbles no matter how strong the rest is. The goal is not a perfect 10 across the board — it's that no single area is so low it stops the ride. "A round wheel rolls." ## How It Works 1. Start your wheel — the [interactive tool](https://wheeloflife.noomii.com/wheel) walks you through your life one area at a time. No drawing, no setup. 2. Rate each area from 1 to 10 — score against your own life, honestly. Nobody else sees it. 3. Be extreme with your scores — rating everything a 5 or 6 tells you nothing. Call a strong area a 9 and a weak one a 2. The truth lives at the edges. 4. Get your wheel instantly — the visual builds as you go. Print it, save it as a PDF, or share it on social media. 5. Read your lowest score first — that number, not your average, is the one running your life. Start there. Time to complete: under a minute (8–10 areas, rated one at a time). ## Areas Covered Most versions use eight to ten areas. This one covers career or business, money, health, family and friends, romance, personal growth, fun and recreation, and physical environment. Some wheels add spirituality or purpose. Categories can be renamed to fit your life (a student swaps in school; a parent weights toward home), but areas shouldn't be deleted just because they're uncomfortable — the one you most want to skip is usually the lowest-scoring, which is exactly why it belongs on the page. ## Background The modern Wheel of Life is credited to Paul J. Meyer, a personal-development pioneer who introduced it in the 1960s and founded the Success Motivation Institute. The deeper idea — using a circle to think about a balanced life — is far older, appearing from Buddhist teaching to Gandhi's philosophy. Meyer's contribution was turning it into a fast rating exercise anyone could finish in minutes. It became one of the first tools most coaches learn and has since spread into wellness and clinical settings. ## What Counts as a Good Score There is no universal good score — you rate each area against your own life, not against others. Shape matters more than any single number: a balanced wheel of honest 6s and 7s beats one with a couple of 10s and a single 2 dragging everything down. The goal is no area so low it stops the ride. Warning: don't rate everything a 5 or 6 to feel safe — middle scores hide the truth. ## Related (Noomii) - [Noomii](https://www.noomii.com/): The web's largest directory of life and business coaches (parent site). - [Find a Life Coach](https://www.noomii.com/life-coaches): Browse vetted life coaches. - [Find a Career Coach](https://www.noomii.com/career-coaches): Browse vetted career coaches. - [Find a Business Coach](https://www.noomii.com/business-coaches): Browse vetted business coaches. - [Accountability Now](https://accountabilitynow.net): Parent company. © 2026 Accountability Now.
